Emergency Management Planning

Comprehensive, Risk-Based, All-Hazard Emergency Management Planning Service Offerings
A Snapshot of Our Emergency Management Background and Experience

Cornerstone Risk Management has over 35 years of emergency management experience.  We have hard-earned, hands-on practical expertise that comes only through having worked and supported a number of real-world emergency events and major exercises involving a wide range of different emergency and disaster event types.  We’ve established disaster cordons, manned entry control points, executed parking plans, conducted area sweeps, and led area evacuation activities.  We’ve also managed and led emergency operations centers (EOC) and resource coordination and mobilization cells, slept and worked in tents for weeks, missed more meals than you can count, drank more bad coffee than you want to count, and lost so much sleep we cannot count.

In addition, our expertise includes leading or executing development and comprehensive rewrites of several large and complex emergency management and disaster-oriented plans, quick-reaction checklists, field guides, job aides, and other supporting core documents.  We’ve also developed smaller more specifically focused documents such as emergency evacuation plans, active shooter plans, emergency response plans and protocols, and several other incident-specific plans, guides and aides.

Our expertise also includes providing extensive planning support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in developing and publishing numerous National Incident Management System (NIMS) planning components, while also serving as a NIMS subject matter expert (SME) for a variety of other program activities.  A sampling of the planning and SME support provided in past projects includes: significant editing and rewrite of the Incident Command System (ICS) Forms Booklet; development of multiple field guides and job aides relating to NIMS Area Command and the Multiagency Coordination System (MACS); and testing and evaluating, as a SME, the extent of compliance with NIMS concepts and principles for new equipment items seeking formal NIMS certification.

Two Emergency Management core principles…being risk-based and all-hazard align with Cornerstone’s fundamental business principles…to be risk-based and all-hazards focused in all we do.
Comprehensive, Compliant…Yet Flexible to Meet Your Emergency
Management Planning Needs

Cornerstone’s emergency management service offerings are primarily focused on planning support. We believe our past experience coupled with intimate understanding of the National Preparedness System, National Preparedness Goal (including the five Mission Areas and 32 Core Capabilities within the Goal), National Response Framework (NRF), NIMS, ICS, and other emergency management planning tools and development aides position us very well to provide high-quality planning support to the full range of potential government and non-government customers.

We are open to a number of different arrangements that best meet customer needs and resource limits, such as working through a retainer agreement that provides clients a “just-in- time” narrowly focused option that maximizes resource expenditures while delivering near-immediate results.

Please Contact Us and let us know what you need.  We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to chat with you and find out what your requirements are, and see if we can find a way together to identify a solution and approach that best meets your specific emergency management planning needs.
